Linda aka MC Debra
Linda came onto the ballroom scene in the 1980s and is known for her unique style of vouging and her quick witted and hilarious emceeing.
Before she started going by “Linda” and before she was “MC Debra,” she went by her birth name, Selvin.
“Linda” is of course a nod to Linda Envangelista.
Her name come from Quincy Chanel and Junior LaBeija; Quincy dubbed her “Debra,” after seeing her in her full beat and Junior added the “MC” part after letting her jump on the mic at Stewart Ebony’s ball.
She has been part of many houses and even started her own, the House of Alain Mikli.
In 2016, she suffered a stroke and has since limited her appearances at balls.
